Do you like the idea of celebrating and sharing these positive stories about kids and animals?
Want to help?
Here’s a great way! You can donate any amount – $2, $6, whatever – here at this link.
It takes you to a Generosity campaign (connected with Indiegogo) where we (through our publisher, Crickhollow Books) are collecting funds to donate copies of the first WAKA book, Doyli to the Rescue: Saving Baby Monkeys in the Amazon, to nonprofit urban literacy program around the U.S.
You can make a secure, one-time gift with a credit card (U.S. residents only; we’re in the process of looking at some other options for our worldwide friends).
So make a donation . . . and a book goes to a needy kid – to a kid hungry for good books and inspiring, multicultural stories about kids doing great things. We think that’s a perfect way to support not just us but kids and families and their literacy future!
To make a donation, go to:
You’ll see more details of the giveaway project there.
There, click the orange Donate Now button. That opens a screen where you can choose any amount to donate.
(Note, Generosity also suggests a donation to support them; that’s optional. You can just click “edit” and reset that suggested add-on to zero, or to any amount. This doesn’t affect us either way.)
Then, for “Contact Information” you can just enter your email for a receipt. You don’t have to “create an account.”
To finish, the next screen allows you to enter credit card info to complete your donation.
Please consider a donation. For each $8 we collect through through this WAKA site, we’ll send a Doyli book to a literacy program. We’re just getting this underway, and will report results here as we go.
Finally, please note that your gift is not tax-exempt. We are not a nonprofit organization (although we certainly don’t make much profit!); we’re just a socially-minded small program trying to do good things! So though we’re using your gift to donate books to nonprofit organizations, your gift isn’t tax exempt. But it’s for a good, worthy cause!
We are truly grateful for your kind support. Even $1 or $2 gifts help!
